Episode #4 One of the Biggest Lies Women Have Believed & My DELICIOUS Garlic Brown Sugar Chicken

Garlic Brown Sugar Chicken Recipe: This dish is a crowd pleaser! I’ve yet to meet the person that doesn’t like Garlic Brown Sugar Chicken! And bonus, it’s super easy to make!! I serve it over rice pilaf, but you could also serve it over pasta. It goes great with a Caesar Salad. The contrast of the sweet sauce on the chicken and the salty Caesar dressing is perfect together! PS: I’ll be doing an upcoming show to show you how to make the best homemade Caesar dressing. Ingredients & Needed Items:
  • 1 & 1/2 cups of buttermilk
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 spoonful of pre-minced garlic for marinating/tenderizing the chicken
  • 6 boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts
  • 12 fresh garlic cloves, chopped
  • 1/2 cup of brown sugar
  • 4 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 cup of butter (1 cube of butter)
Instructions
  • Pat the chicken dry. Then using the meat mallet tenderize the chicken
  • Put tenderized chicken into a gallon sized Ziplock bag
  • Pour the buttermilk, spoonful of pre-minced garlic, & 1 teaspoon of both salt and pepper over the chicken in the Ziplock bag. Mix it around.
  • Put the Ziplock bag full of chicken and mixture in the refrigerator for a minimum of 1 hour and up to about 8 hours.
  • Take chicken out of the Ziplock bag and pat it dry. Throw away the rest of the buttermilk mixture.
  • Drizzle a little olive oil over chicken and sprinkle salt and pepper on both sides.
  • Heat a skillet, preferably a black cast-iron skillet to a medium high heat
  • Pre-Heat oven to 350 and set the 9×13 casserole dish next to stove
  • Put 2 Tbsp of olive oil and 2 Tbsp of butter in the skillet until melted and starting to brown.
  • Place chicken into heated, oiled/buttered skillet and brown on each side and then place into the casserole dish after they’re browned
  • Once you’re done browning the chicken, reduce the stove to medium low
  • Add 2 Tbsps of olive oil to the skillet that you browned the chicken in.
  • Sauté chopped garlic in the 2 Tbsp olive oil until translucent, but not browned.
  • Add the remaining butter and the brown sugar to the sautéed garlic until the ingredients blend together.
  • Pour the brown sugar and sautéed garlic evenly over the top of the chicken

  • Bake, uncovered for 15 to 20 minutes or until chicken breasts are cooked through (when the chicken is approximately 160°- 165°)
